A building permit is required for all new construction and for any repairs or reconstruction which alters a structure.  Building permits are also required for other constructions such as driveways, accessory buildings (sheds, garages, etc.), burglar alarms, fire alarms, heat pumps, air conditioning units, lawn irrigation systems, fences, re-roofing, screen enclosures, docks, swimming pools, septic tanks, water heater replacement, drainfield repairs/replacements, sanitary sewer connections, sidewalks, slabs or patios, tennis courts, tree removal and satellite dishes.
