Dynamic prop balancing can be very beneficial to the longevity of the engine, propeller, baffling, shock mounts, and many other components; not to mention the decreased roughness the pilot usually notices.  Estherville Aviation has been using the MicroVib II made by Dynamic Solutions Systems to balance props to the engines since 2005.  It can be used to balance most any rotating mass.  The industry standard is to decrease the vibration to .1 IPS (inches per second) but we can usually get it below that.  If the owner desires, it can be adjusted much lower.  Usually three runs of the engine will get it below .05 IPS. Please be aware, certain factors can make the balancing procedure very difficult or even impossible on some installations. But most common configurations of prop, spinner and flywheel allow for relative easy balancing.
