Indianola Municipal Utilities retains qualified tree-trimming contractors to remove a vegetative growth from IMU overhead facilities.  Trimming is required to ensure that Indianola’s electrical service and communications facilities will not be unnecessarily interrupted.

Vegetative growth has removed a minimum of six (6) feet from an overhead power line, fixture or communications line which is located within the street right-of-way or easement.  There is no cost to the customer if IMU’s contractor completes the trimming.  However, customers do have the option to hire a third party qualified contractor, at their own expense.

Due to safety reasons, homeowners are not authorized to do any trimming around IMU’s electrical lines.  Any issues with vegetative growth around power lines should be reported to the IMU administrative office at 515-961-9444.
