The HandyWorker Program provides minor home repairs to income-qualified households in the unincorporated areas of the Antelope Valley in the 5th Supervisorial District. The HandyWorker program provides services that contribute to the health and safety of life through minor home repairs. The program gives independence and mobility to clients by installing ramps, grab bars and elevated toilet seats. A particular concern is homes with seniors without their health and safety needs being met. Some services that are provided are minor plumbing repairs, minor electrical repairs, installation of smoke detectors and window repairs. The program will contribute to the overall revitalization and stabilization of the targeted neighborhoods and upgrade the condition of homes, including mobile homes to ensure safe, secure housing for low-income and elderly residents.
