Osage Municipal Utilities offers Electric, Natural Gas and Communication services to the Osage area. OMU exists to provide community-owned, locally controlled, reliable utility services for the best value.

In 1941 Osage Municipal Utility was created as a generation and electric distribution utility.

In 1961 natural gas distribution was added to the utility.

In 1997 dial-up Internet service was added.

In 2002 phone, cable TV and high speed Internet services were added.

In 2005 broadband wireless Internet service was added.

OMU is governed by a 5 person board to direct the policies of the utility. These board members are appointed by the Mayor of Osage and approved by the Osage City Council. Board members serve for 6 year terms.
