CTH provides a comprehensive approach to the care of Ohio's challenging youth by offering PLACEMENT and BEHAVIORAL HEALTH services under one roof. CTH specializes in the provision of services to severely emotionally disturbed youth from various locations throughout Ohio. CTH operates treatment foster homes and group homes in Lucas, Wood, Sandusky and Fulton counties and provides Behavioral Health services at their administrative offices located at 6715 Dorr St, Toledo OH 43615.

Mission Statement To provide counseling and family style community based care with a conviction that all children have great intrinsic worth and are capable of positive change.

CTH typically provides placement services to youth as a step down from residential care or a step up from Specialized Treatment Foster Care.

CTH utilizes the Teaching-Family model of care which supports integration in the community through a cognitive behavioral approach in a family-like environment.

CTH behavioral health is available to youth and families in the area may be accessed without being placed in one of CTH's homes.

While CTH offers a full range of mental health services for youth, we specialize in the provision of services to youth who have experienced trauma, sexual reactive behaviors, and/or who have severe emotional needs. Community Teaching Homes has shown excellence in its design and implementation of programs provided. Through providing a family home environment and unconditional regard for persons served, many of those served have been able to change their behaviors to become productive members of society, thrive in the community, and have a significant impact in society. The programs ability to provide natural consequences to youths served has enabled change and fostered growth among this population. The family homes serve some of the most disadvantaged youth with criminal histories as well as mental illnesses and/or substance abuse diagnoses and have proven the impact of the program with positive outcomes for those who may otherwise be incarcerated or have a future of criminal behavior.
