Welcome To

Soroptimist of Rancho Cordova & Gold River

Soroptimist is an international organization who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. Almost 160,000 Soroptimists in 1300 clubs in 21 countries and territories, contribute time and financial support to communitybased and international projects that benefit women and girls. The name, Soroptimist, means "best for women," and that's what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are people at their best, working to help other women to be their best.

Women are economically empowered when they have control over their own finances and well-being, and when they have a voice in the financial decisions to shape their lives and the lives of their families. When women and girls are empowered, they have a sense of autonomy, self-confidence, and the power to control their private and public lives. We focus on access to education because we believe its the most effective way toward empowerment.

Our club's project focus has been helping homeless and at-risk students, veterans, as well as offering Live Your Dream college scholarships to head-of-household moms and Dream It Be It programs for secondary school age girls to help give career direction and life skill training to prepare them for becoming successful adults.
