Join us in growing Boise’s urban forest through our City of Trees Challenge! Together, we aim to plant one tree for every household — 100,000 trees — over the next decade and sponsor 235,000 seedlings to restore Idaho forests. If you'd like to plant a tree on the public right-of-way near your home, simply request a free planting permit to ensure the right tree in the right place. While the tree and planting costs are yours, you’ll be helping to beautify Boise and make a lasting impact! Plus, with your care — watering, pest control, and proper pruning — your tree will thrive for years to come.
