Photodynamic Therapy

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an advanced treatment that combines a light-activated medication with targeted light exposure to address precancerous skin lesions, such as actinic keratoses. This non-invasive procedure involves applying a topical solution to the affected areas, followed by controlled exposure to blue light. PDT works by selectively destroying precancerous cells and reducing the size of sun-damaged sebaceous glands, promoting healthier skin and helping to prevent the progression of skin cancer.
