Our Online Driver Manual/Three Exam Failure Course is an 8-hour, self-guided program available 24/7, designed to strengthen understanding of the Virginia Driver’s Manual and better prepare individuals for the knowledge test. Completion of this course, taken after a third test failure, allows eligible participants to retake the exam once the DMV receives a valid certificate. Requirements vary by age, with those 18 and older able to choose between the Driver’s Manual course or classroom driver education, while individuals under 18 must complete the classroom component of driver education before enrolling.
