DeLand is known as the Athens of Florida and is strategically located between Daytona Beach and Orlando, where everything is bright, sunny, and with just the right amount of salt in the air as you tee off.
A resident favorite, Victoria Hills Golf Club is a Ron Garl-designed golf course with a reputation as one of the top courses in Florida. The course takes advantage of the natural flow of the area’s rolling hills and foliage. The beautiful 18-hole, par 72 golf course is surrounded by hundreds of oak hammocks and Augusta pines, carved meticulously from a sandy terrain and is buffered by pristine lakes and flowering greens. The course will test any golfer’s skills and to say the views are stunning is an understatement.
Alternatively, Deltona Club and DeBary Golf & Country Club are also excellent nearby options. Some courses are private, requiring membership, so it’s always a good idea to inquire if the course is open to non-members. DeLand and the surrounding areas have a lot to offer when it comes to golf, but of course, after a great day on the back nine, you can come home to Meadowlea Village for a great evening.
