Barelas 4th St. Plan Great Blocks Project - Primarily, the focus of the project is on improving pedestrian safety through traffic calming interventions, improved lighting, and ADA compliance. As a federally=desogmated Low Access to Transporation Census Tract, many rely on walking/biking for their commutes.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
The project also intends to make Barelas 4th Street corridor more economically viable by promoting pedestrian activity and increasing connectivity to nearby attractions including the historic Rail Yards, National Hispanic Cultural Center, and Rio Grande Zoo.
