Short Term Medical Insurance

Short term health insurance provides coverage for a limited time period. It is designed to cover you when you are between jobs or in some other gap of health insurance coverage. Most short term plans offer coverage up to 6 months. As it is meant to cover accidents or unforeseen illnesses, there is no coverage for preventative care or pre-existing conditions. While valuable in certain situations, you should know that short term health insurance does not meet the Affordable Care Act’s qualified health plan standards.
