Customized In-Home Supports (CIHS) is one of Alta Mira Specialized Family Services Inc.’s Family Support Services (FSS). CIHS are supports designed to assist individuals with the acquisition, improvement, and retention of skills to achieve personal outcomes, instruct or enhance home living and community skills to address health and safety as needed by providing individuals the opportunity to design and manage the services and supports needed to live in their own home or their family home. CIHS is intended for individuals that do not require the amount and intensity of paid direct care support, and consists of two types of living arrangements: Living independently and living with paid or unpaid families or natural support. CIHS is not a residential service with 24 hours a day, seven days-a-week coverage.
