Honor Veterans Program

Hospice of Southern Illinois proudly participates in the We Honor Veterans program, a national hospice awareness campaign conducted by the NHPCO in collaboration with the VA. Our commitment to this initiative stems from a shared mission to establish Hospice-Veteran Partnerships (HVP), uniting VA facilities, hospices, and other stakeholders in delivering exceptional end-of-life care to the approximately 680,000 U.S. Veterans who pass away annually. Recognizing that many Veterans may not be enrolled in VA or aware of available end-of-life services and benefits, including the Medicare Hospice Benefit and VA-paid hospice care, HVPs play a vital role in facilitating access to hospice and palliative care when it is needed most. Through our participation in the We Honor Veterans program, Hospice of Southern Illinois honors and serves those who have selflessly served our nation.
