Soil Health

The Mini-Cassia Direct Seed & Cover Crop Project serves as a significant avenue for advancing soil health and raising awareness about conservation practices. Through the sponsorship of 8 Soil Health Workshops and hosting 3 Cover Crop Field Tours, the districts have provided invaluable educational opportunities for the community. These initiatives initially stemmed from a CIG grant, which enabled the districts to offer information on cover crop seeds, seed mixes, direct seed drills, and educational resources to the public. Even after the conclusion of the grant, the districts have continued to organize soil health workshops for five consecutive years, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to this cause.
