Junior Balloonists

The Balloon Federation of America (BFA) Youth Program offers a variety of summer camps designed to introduce youths aged 13-17 to the sport of ballooning. These camps provide a comprehensive, hands-on experience that includes learning about balloon mechanics, safety protocols, and pilot decision-making. Under the guidance of FAA certified commercial pilots, campers engage in activities such as balloon setup, tethering, and potentially flying, weather permitting. The program aims to foster a deep understanding and passion for ballooning, encouraging participants to pursue further involvement, whether as crew members or pilots. The camps also emphasize community building and socialization among participants.
