News Director / Sports Announcer

What You’ll Do:

  • Anchor 3 daily newscasts (Mon–Sat) + 5 public affairs programs weekly
  • Cover breaking news, local meetings, community events, and post stories to SandhillsExpress.com
  • Play-by-play or color commentary for high school sports: football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, baseball, golf, cross country & more
  • Contribute to Nebraska Cornhuskers coverage as our official Huskers Radio affiliate
  • Assist with live shows, remote broadcasts, severe weather coverage & station operations
  • Use audio, video & digital tools to enhance storytelling and sports coverage

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong communication & writing skills
  • Knowledge of broadcast & web-based journalism principles
  • Comfortable on-air with news, sports, and live hosting
  • Ability to research, fact-check & deliver accurate, engaging stories
  • Team player ready to wear many hats in a dynamic, small-town radio setting
